World AIDS Day Program & Rally, on 01 Dec 2017
The World Health Organization (WHO) had designated 1st December as World AIDS Day in 1987. Since then it is observed annually. It is one of the eight official global public health campaigns marked by the WHO.

The theme selected by World Health Organization (WHO) for year 2017 is 'Right to health'. Under it, WHO will highlight need for 36.7 million people living with HIV and those who are vulnerable and affected by the epidemic, to reach the goal of universal health coverage.

The World AIDS Day is celebrated at MIMS organized by the Department of Community Medicine to raise the public awareness about Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome.

Events which were conducted
1. Medical students and faculty of MIMS participated in the rally which started from NTR statue of Vikarabad to DIET College with AIDS awareness ribbon. The Rally was inaugurated by honorable MLA Sri Sanjeev Rao garu and accompanied by DM & HO Dr.Dasarath and DIO Dr.Sudhakar.

The Department of Community Medicine is thankful to CEO of MIMS Mr.Harikrishnan Babu, Dean Dr.N.Udaya kiran, Medical Super indent Dr.Bhagath and Vice Dean Dr.Saidunnisa Begum for their support for the success of the Rally.
